Asking to considering including my new addon which uses JSON api's provided by Porn Hub Traffic to present video's from the sites instead of relying on scraping results. It has a setting for Gay or Straight content.

It requires the followup to XBMCSWIFT2, KodiSwift which I have included the dependent script.module.kodiswift and I understand they are working on adding the module to the Kodi repo

Hmm so what happens if the user already has the included modules installed on his system? Is there a conflict? Which one wins? How do updates work?

Kodiswift is currently in a pull request to be included in the main XBMC Repo as a standard addon like it's previous version XBMCSWIFT2. I know that Phil65 has been looking at the project and pull request so I would assume it's inclusion should come soon. Conflict wise Kodi will simply give an error if it can't install the dependent addon's there is no issue with having XBMCSWIFT2, and KODISWIFT running on the same install they won't conflict. I'm not the biggest expert on Kodi dependency's and most of my systems are tainted as I've got various version of Kodi running with all sorts of developer addon's but by all means see what happens if you try to install the addon. I think it will possibly fail unless you install Kodiswift first but not sure..Hope this helps would certainly like to see this addon gain some exposure it's my first major addon to release to the world after about 2 years of learning and playing on my own system and with VideoDevil. Cheers!

Hmmm...Is that ok with Sinap? You say "my new addon", but actually it's just a modified addon of Sinap and you didn't even mention his name. IMHO, It would be fair to ask Sinap first.

Sorry if there is a misunderstanding Kodiswift is just a framework to build XBMC Addons off and many hundreds of existing Addons are based on the Framework Kodiswift was forked from XBMCSWIFT/XBMCSWIFT2 but it was last updated in about 2013 so Sinap has been working on updating XBMCSWIFT2 to bring the naming in line with Kodi and update the API's to match more recent Kodi versions. I have contributed bug fixes to his Repo afrase/kodiswift@24433fa

My Addon uses this Framework, but I have also contributed to his Fork with a bug fix for the framework which he has merged in. My HUBgay addon rely's on not only his module, Script.Module.Kodiswift, but also Script.Module.URLResolver, Script.Module.Youtube.dl, and Script.Module.Simple.Downloader to provide additional functionality. All of this is mentioned in the Description including a link to Kodiswift.

REQUIRED [B]Script.Module.URLResolver, Simple.Downloader, and KODIswift/B

Until the pull request get's accepted to put Kodiswift into the main repo my addon can't automatically install it's dependency on that module which is why I try to make it easier for people by packaging that module as a zip along side my own module that is built using this framework. I could just as easily have used the XBMCSWIFT2 framework but I wanted to use the most updated thing which is bound to replace XBMCSWIFT2 shortly.

As XBMCSWIFT2 hasn't had a significant update in years (Released: 2013-12-10), it is still used as a Framework for many addon developers to this day, I would imagine Kodiswift will see a quick uptake once it's included in the main Kodi Repo. The Pull request was submitted about 23 days ago, and Phil65 seemed appreciative that Sinap finally got around to updating the popular framework. xbmc/repo-scripts#197
