Community Support Process

The Basics

Goal:

The Liquibase community is a vibrant place where people enjoy collaborating and sharing knowledge with each other. The beauty of open source is that we work together to build something that helps us all.

Let’s review what Community Supporters do to help out.

What do Community Supporters do?

We are the people who help answer community questions on the Liquibase Forum, StackOverflow, and anywhere else the community congregates.

Liquibase Community Platforms

As questions are posted on the following platforms, a member of the Liquibase Community team will review them and share them in the special invite-only Liquibase-Community Slack channel ( #topic-tech-questions-community ) for community supporters to review and answer.

  1. Liquibase Community Forum
  2. Stack Overflow
  3. Liquibase Issues in GitHub
  4. Community Discord Server

Supporter Central

How to Join

As a community supporter, it is important that you join our invite-only Community Support Slack shared channel. This will be our central hub for coordinating with the Liquibase team and Community Supporters. To be invited to this channel, please email community@liquibase.com with your name and the email address you use with Slack. A member of the team will add you soon.

How to Participate

How we all act

  • Check in when you can to help out!
  • No punks, no jerks - follow the Code of Conduct
  • Support the community but also your peers in this group by asking for, giving, and receiving help when needed.

Steps for how we handle questions

  • Review Tabby's questions in the #topic-tech-questions-community shared slack channel for unanswered questions you can answer.
  • [ ✅ ] Items marked with the checkmark have been answered.
  • [ 👀 ] Items marked with eyes are currently being worked on.
  • [ 🙌 ] Show that you think the team's answer was "nicely done."
  • Each item in need of support will have its' own thread - please try to keep things contained to threads to avoid confusion.

Ways to help grow our community

  • Welcome new users when they post for the first time
  • Acknowledge existing users when they return after being away
  • Talk to people - be curious about posts to spark longer, more meaningful conversations
  • Upvote contributions that you like
  • Mark clear, correct answers as "accepted answers"

Finding answers to questions

What you get in return

  • The wonderful feeling that you're helping others.
  • Recognition from Liquibase
  • Recognition from your peers
  • See your progress on the Supporters Leaderboard and celebrate your success!

As you contribute by answering questions for other community members, your activity will count towards your Liquibase Legends achievements. In Legends, you can watch your progress on the leaderboard and earn cool Liquibase swag. As you answer more questions, you'll achieve higher levels. New titles reflect your accomplishments and can be shared on social.

We know you’re giving of your time to help out, and we appreciate it very much. This kind of collaboration is one of the best things about open-source software. We are happy to be sharing this community with you.
