These are fixes for this issue: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/204542372?pli=1
Do these changes make sense @IgnatBeresnev?

Hi! To be honest, not completely, I'm fairly new to all this.

From what I can see, it somehow resolves everything for html format, I can press links and they lead to enum entry pages. Are there some internal problems related to this?

Also, the google tracker references this page, is it built with dokka's help? I don't have access to the staging link, so I can't compare the two :)

I see that my changes broke some other tests so I will look into that. Nonetheless, there were 2 issues:

  • the first one was reported by google: there were dead links for enum entries in dackka. After investigation, I found out that there were problems with escaping the double quotes that exist in enum entry DRI. They were embedded in data-dri as an additional JSON parameter as is, but then JSoup was parsing it and got confused because of not escaped quotes. This should have been fixed by one-liner, but then I observed that we have inconsistency in DRI links that we get from PSI and Descriptors:
  • for enum X { A, B } from PSI we'd obtain classNames=X, callable=A and from Descriptor classNames=X.A, callable=null. I tried to unify behavior which I think I succeed in because my new test case has non-null callable part and the names are trimmed to enum, not enum.enumEntry

I mean, this inconsistency with PSI/Descriptor problems is coming only while resolving links from KDocs above Java/Kotlin classes. For Kotlin we get it while parsing markdown and we try to get Descriptor. In Java, we get it from PSIElement so the same element got differently resolved when we try to obtain DRI using DRI.from function once for Descriptor and once for PSI

@IgnatBeresnev I had to unify the DRIs obtained from the enum entries, because for 4 possible outputs:

  • linking Java Entry from Java Class
  • linking Kotlin Entry from Java Class
  • linking Java Entry from Kotlin Class
  • linking Kotlin Entry from Kotlin Class
we had 3 completely different DRIs.

I think that my unit test is quite extensive and will prove the correctness of my fixes. The main change I am still not sure about is that Java Entries (obtained from PSI) had callable part, while Descriptors elements had Enum Entry embedded into classnames. Moreover, there was problems with extra property for Descriptors depending on whether EnumEntry was coming from Java or Kotlin. I unified it so now every time there is extra property added and moved EnumEntry name from callable to classnames. WDYT?

I added a new commit with small but important changes. After talking to Marcin, we figured out that probably the issue was that we didn't add the extra property globally for all enum entries, which this particular extra was designed for.

Locally it seems to be working, let's see that all CI tests pass. Thanks to that we will have correctly generated pageIndex for the location provider, so we won't need some fallback strategy there.

We have different Nullable (org.jetbrains.dokka.links.Nullable and org.jetbrains.dokka.model.Nullable) and TypeConstructor (the same).

Yes, I just found that out, I didn't pay attention that IntelliJ also replace 3 imports links.... into one wildcard, so it had to explicite import these two lines.

Bugfix release that addresses several blockers and regressions.

##### General

- Support `Kotlin` 1.7.10

##### Gradle plugin

- Do not expose `Kotlin` stdlib in plugin dependencies, this should fix errors like `Module was compiled with an incompatible version of Kotlin` when using `Dokka`. Thanks to [@martinbonnin](https://togithub.com/martinbonnin) ([#2543](https://togithub.com/Kotlin/dokka/issues/2543))

##### Java sources

- Fixed build failure caused by having configured source links for `Java` code ([#2544](https://togithub.com/Kotlin/dokka/issues/2544))
- Fixed several exotic problems that led to build failures, all related to using annotation in `Java` sources ([#2509](https://togithub.com/Kotlin/dokka/issues/2509), [#2551](https://togithub.com/Kotlin/dokka/issues/2551), [#2350](https://togithub.com/Kotlin/dokka/issues/2350))
