Summary:

VIA introduced a regression https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/commit/c255034574c725583afac4a6c7eed901b8ac2d7f which caused the firmware file to be misdetected.

Solution:

Either downgrade to fwupd 1.5.x or upgrade to 1.6.3 and re-apply the firmware update.
