Background

On some hardware a manual action is required before firmware updates can be scheduled.

The Firmware updates disabled; run 'fwupdmgr unlock' to enable will show if you are running on a system with hardware that is currently in the locked state. As the warning suggests, running fwupdmgr unlock should unlock the hardware.
