Call 1

  • Joe: Any progress on action item from previous meeting "Lorenz will design for a non-hacky solution that meets BazookaJoe reuqirements in coming 2 weeks. Not a full solution to the long term problem but not hack either. Joe will have to do implementation. "

    • Lorenz absent; so we can't answer. Suggest you ping him on MAVLink channel requesting new ETA.
  • Hamish > JamesP: Any result chasing PeterB re nested inclusion of dialect files?

    • No. Still chasing regularly. Will still do so.
  • Command/Mission Discovery

    • Supported commands depend on modes. Modes make things complicated because they are not yet standardised. Suggestion is to make it useful for just mission first and check impact/usefulness
    • Consider inverting the JSON tree to make it more flexible for different modes
    • Also think about how to represent (potential) common and custom modes if needed (i.e. even if we don't do commands right now, we shouldn't preclude them).
    • [Hamish - later] Mission items and command support are orthogonal. Think about inverting JSON tree to support mission items and commands at top level.
    • AO Julian to revisit solution with above in mind. In particular solution that supports mission items first, and can be extended to support commands and modes.
  • Gimbal API Update (Julian)

    • Messages are in common.xml and documentation has been created (Julian/Hamish).
    • First implementation in MAVSDK underway by community contribution.
    • PX4 gimbal manager not started. Probably job for JulianO.
  • Common Flight Modes update (Julian)

    • No work done. Will update us next meeting.
  • #1331 Add failure injection command with enums (Julian)

    • Done (via params) AO Auturgy investigating how ArduPilot does this
    • Merged as WIP.
